NBA YoungBoy was declared the “The People’s Champ”

On Wednesday (Feb. 1), NBA YoungBoy was declared the “The People’s Champ” in the 2022 awards ceremony. Throughout the year, the Louisiana rapper dropped a vast amount of new music, including eight projects such as mixtapes and albums, with two of them reaching gold status for selling 500,000 copies. The Lost Files, his most recent work released in December 2022, was a compilation of his most highly regarded underground tracks and previously unheard songs.
But YB’s most remarkable achievement was the birth of his 10th child on September 28, 2022, and his recent marriage to Jazlyn Mychelle on January 7, 2023. In 2020, YB collaborated with Nicki Minaj on two tracks, including “I Admit” and “What That Speed Bout?!”.
The “People’s Champ” title was voted on by 56 industry pioneers, including seasoned rap artists like Pusha T, Yo Gotti, Future, and Jadakiss, as well as up-and-coming industry players like Ericka Coulter, Franz de los Reyes, and Mustard.
Along with the “People’s Champ” award, the ceremony also honored artists in categories such as Artist of the Year, Male Rapper of the Year, Female Rapper of the Year, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, and more. Congratulations to NBA YoungBoy on his well-deserved recognition.
